Now live: German language Versatile Apparel site

Now live: German language Versatile Apparel site

The flamboyant Italian style and London attitude of premium menswear brand Versatile Apparel is now available online, fully translated into German.

This is the first stage of Versatile Apparel’s multilingual rollout which will eventually see the site translated into a further five languages, allowing customers to shop in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or Cantonese.

drivebusiness have provided Versatile Apparel with native translations and localisation services, along with new graphics and layout adjustments to ensure that all text fits the page regardless of the language. The remaining translations are expected to go live in the next two months and will bring a huge number of new potential customers to Versatile Apparel.

Translation and localisation services are crucial for online retailers with truly global aspirations. The T-index from translated.net – a percentage value indicating a language’s global sales potential based on its native speaking population, internet penetration and spending power – illustrates this well, listing English at 34.8%, while the cumulative T-index for the six other languages is 34.3%. This suggests that on completion the translation work done by drivebusiness will have nearly doubled the global sales potential of Versatile Apparel’s online store, and will in future provide a solid foundation for their plans for international expansion.

drivebusiness and Samsung Crescent Racing at Knockhill

This weekend saw more action in the British Superbike championships at Knockhill, with drivebusiness-supported Samsung Crescent Racing in the thick of it yet again. Knockhill is the only Scottish leg of the tour, and drivebusiness staff from our Dundonald office took advantage of this to go along and show some support.

John Hopkins battled to a second place finish in race 1, adding valuable championship points and podium credits to his tally and ensuring that he held on to second place overall despite crashing out in a disappointing race 2. Team mate John Kirkham moved up to eighth in the standings, and will be looking to build on this when the championship moves on to Snetterton in a fortnight’s time. Team manager Jack Valentine said: “Our goals will remain unchanged: more podium points for Hopper and an uplift to top-six for JK.”

A fresh image for D2 Jeans

D2 jeans, the chain of UK stores offering fast, affordable fashion to a young and stylish crowd, wanted to give their eCommerce store a spring clean and a fresh new look in time for the May bank holiday weekend, and drivebusiness obliged with a complete reskin of their site. A vibrant new look reflects the brand’s youthful customer base, and improvements to the interface allow more merchandising flexibility.

New features include a brand new and unique manageable front page image carousel which allows the team at D2 to upload content to promote an offer, a sale or a brand. The social media features of our eCommerce platform, Enrich, were also built into the functionality of the site, allowing customers to “Like” or share a product on Facebook and follow the brand on Twitter.

Homepage refresh for Elvis Jesus

drivebusiness have been busy keeping their clients’ sites fresh and up-to-date, with premium cult brand Elvis Jesus’s ecommerce store receiving a fresh new look and added functionality.

Elvis Jesus, the rebellious, rough-around-the-edges brand with a youthful and sartorially aware consumer base, needed a homepage that allowed them greater merchandising flexibility and gave them the power to quickly and easily market their new collections and promotions. drivebusiness provided a new sliding image carousel, accompanied by 4 smaller panel sections, giving the team at Elvis Jesus a wealth of new options for their landing page.

The team had this to say: “The new homepage allows us to be more creative and adaptable in this content heavy market. We can trial new products, stories and videos with the easy to use CMS system and act upon augmented traffic.”

Content management is carried out through enrich, our proprietary commerce platform.
